About My Approach

My approach is active and collaborative. I strive to provide a place of emotional safety where I listen to you carefully and respond honestly. I believe that understanding why a problem has become a problem is not enough. Actually “doing something about it” is what’s important. Therefore, my work is focused on eliciting behavioral changes that are based on your personal goals and values. I give honest feedback and actively develop strategies for change. My intent is to help you live more fully and joyfully.

While I have been extensively trained in many current evidence-based psychological interventions and informed by Eastern philosophies and practices, I believe no single modality can address the variety of individual presentations.  I blend a range of approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), to name a few. Since each client is unique, I tailor the therapy to each person’s particular situation.

I think mind and body are one and I use a strong mind/body focus to promote personal growth and to empower change. My ultimate goal is to help you remove obstacles that stand in a way of living a meaningful life and realizing your full potential. I believe the path to healing and wholeness requires total integration of all facets of the self: good, bad and ugly.
